It’s 2017 people!  I am sure anywhere you are like work, Starbucks, social event, your kid’s soccer game or just sitting on your couch at home, you will see someone holding a smartphone and staring blankly into it.  I bet you could flail your arms and they wouldn’t notice.  This very frequent and normal scenario is why mobile optimization is important.

Mobile users want to accomplish different agendas than desktop users.  They are usually impulse buyers or have an agenda to immediately find whatever they’re searching for instantly.  By optimizing your website for mobile users then you are making their experience more enjoyable and cleaner to buying whatever product or information they are searching for.  Would you rather drive down a bumpy cobblestone road or down a nicely paved asphalt street to get home.  Ok that last sentence probably confused you so I apologize but I was trying to make the point that a website that responds to the screen size of your mobile phone or tablet and makes everything easier to read is by far a better experience than a hard to read or “blotchy” website.

Mobile customers will remember your website if it gives them a satisfied feeling and most likely keep returning.  A person who has a tough time navigating through your website will move on to the next website that offers them a better navigation experience which will be your competitor.  The name of the game is to get people to your website be it mobile or on a desktop and make sure they get a good impression and stay.  In this day and age, you will lose a customer to a competitor whose website offers them a better experience along with top notch service which you didn’t get a chance to prove to them that you are far superior company because their first impression was not a good one.
